Well today was a nice day and with the Camaro gone for the moment there was plenty of room in the driveway for once to open up the 3rd door. After 5 years of sitting, it was time to charge the battery, air up the tires, gas up the tank, and wash down the '74 Vert.

Took the battery charger as well as a jump to get the Eldo started after 4 years (we had to push it out to start it as starting it inside is a death wish to all the residence of the household...)

Then once she would idle on her own power and after a fresh oil change it was time to try and start her...

Well after a hard days work here she sits...

Now I'm placing the order for the numerous things it needs, a new top, new plastic/rubber trim all around and some leather dye.

Gonna be a blast this summer!

That is one helluva car, my friend. Shine 'er up nice, spec her out, and then hit the open road. Take your mind off your troubles one mile at a time.

Gorgeous car! My dealer had one of the last '76 Eldo's on the lot about a year ago and it was a beastly looking car.

BTW, love the chrome on the STS. Didn't know you had added that.

Re: Revival of a Classic... The '74 Breaths Life Again!!!

thanks Ryan

CadillacGurl bought them for me...
same with the old twisted E&G grille down at my shop in homestead (now has a new one!)
as with the chrome fender pieces which reside in my garage (never installed them)

they look good on a silver car, imho and only on a silver car...

Always nice to see an old classic brought back to life. Considering your recent track record, however, I would be reluctant to drive it around much until your luck turns. Don't bad things come in threes? If so, you're due for one more, I'm afraid.

LOL
thanks for the concern but on the bright side I cant drive it until I take it up to get inspected (I'm hoping sometime this week but it is end of the month so things will probably be hectic),
took her once around the block today to make sure the brake lines were good and everything seemed okay on her.

So far the accidents I've incurred have not been totally my fault, so as long as I'm not taking any long road trips and some crazy lady cant see that TANK in the other lane I think I'll be okay!

However I think against a Honda or a Barrier, the 74 would win lol.

Not sure how Illinois inspection works, But I would wait a week and get the inspection done in April to get a full year out of it. In Texas your better off getting it done at the beginning of the month rather then the end.

Thats a pretty cool looking car though, Imagine the ride is totally different from your STS

perks of being a PA state inspector
I have no doubts of it passing lol

I'm probably going to return to work Weds (got way too much work to make up on that I should of been doing instead of hanging and crashing at my friends dorm all weekend)

Sides heads still throbbing and an impact gun is the last thing I need to hear from 8am-4pm lol
