Well I have to say very happy with the results. Rwhp is 427 so it was a gain of 60. How many miles should I drive easy for? Next is the magnacharger!

TXSilverV,

Did you do headers and exhaust? What kind of fuel are you running?

My 04 Silver V made 425RWHP with a Maggie, Corsa Sport Exhaust and garden variety 91 octane. Inlet conditions at the air box were 25.4"Hg, 89.2F and 6%RH. I live at 5000' in CO. What were your inlet conditions?

Mike

P.S. I grew up in Austin, where do you live?

Mike,
I live in Dallas. I do have stainless works long tube headers and the Magnafow cat back system. I have no idea what the inlet conditions were, but I will ask them today. I always run the Shell V power 93 I guess it's sort of a joke since it's V power.

How does the idle sound? Is it real lopey or just a bit more over stock? I think I saw that you were running a 228 on a 114 LSA. I was leaning towards the 224 on 114 but I bet there is a little more power to be had in the 228. Did you go with aftermarket heads or rework yours?

I just had my heads CNC milled or what ever it's called. It is lopey and I like that. I do have a question though, should I be able to hear the Rod/Piston? It has a rattle from the engine like I have no oil. IS THIS NORMAL? Car is parked til you guys tell me. Let me add I know not a thing in the world about engines so all of this is new to me.

Urby,on most dyno's 452 at least. At 21 century muscle cars their dyno reads 25 hp less than the guys across town. For whatever reason TX car is damn strong. My maggied V with stealth tune 390RHP on the same dyno.TX silver no cats and did I mention O my f'n god LOUD.When I get down there all about the driver this time.LOL,hope Gordy doesn't show up =we're going down.

Very respectable power gains TxSilver V. The noise you described may quiet down with a little bit thicker oil. Do you feel the power gains out weigh the noises you here.
Again, Very nice gains. I was right where you were on the dyno before you added a cam and heads. I pulled 367RWHP on a Mustang dyno on a 90+ degree day.

Now you have me thinking???

yeah, i'm with you there....the shop I use has a very very stingy dyno...it runs at least 30 below others. mine pulled 316HP with headers/intake pre-tune, LOL. Should have been 340.

Great numbers. Mine is at 430 rwhp with about the same parts. I have AFR heads and about the same cam. Stainless works headers with random high flow cats and Corsa. The car sounds great up to 3500 and from there on it gets real loud, music to my ears and everyone in the area. Don't worry about the ticking. It is a buy product of the camshaft. It reminds me of the old solid lift cams. It comes from the ramp on the lobes, the lifters have a hard time keeping up with the lobe. Take it out and enjoy your new power. I know you will love it. I also love the lopey idle and it draws a lot of attention. People just can't believe its a Cadillac. :cool2:
