ok here's today's goofy question...
i see on Ebay there are quite a few CTS/STS steering wheels up for auction...
my question is this...

if i were to replace my CTS (3.0l base) steering wheel with the CTS-V with the KB7 paddle shifters. has anyone done this mode? and if so are the paddle shifters functional?
i know that this is a long shot but i thought it could be a cool mode if its not too much work.

i'll have to pull my airbag and see what the wiring harness on the Base CTS looks like and see if its the same as the CTS-V

thanks

IDK, but I'd guess no. You may want to do some more research before pulling anything apart.

yeah, i found a few posts in the archives here.
its not going to work as a straight replacement, but i should be able to transplant the buttons and the wiring hardness between the two wheels.
obviously the paddle shifter buttons will not work but i could have the suede CTS-V steering wheel.

While nice, I don't know how long that Alcantara wheel will hold up to sweaty palms. Or is that "schwetty palms" (with a nod to Saturday Night Live).
