I need a radio on my 92 STS. I was thinking of going to a factory replacement
( Bose with cassette and CD)from a salvage yard, but someone told me I need a code to remove and install the other radio. Is this true? and where would I get the code? I don't have it. Really didn't want to put in a aftermarket radio, but if I have to go thru the trouble with codes, I might have to. Thx for replies.

keep in mind on the 92 the head unit is only a remote control for the box mounted back by the anntena. even though the head unit is labled as bose all you will be gaining is cassette and cd, nothing as far as sound quality.

Other than that, its plug and play, no codes or anything...if you go aftermarket it will be a slightly different stroy, but still not terrible.
