I'm finally going to do the vss.,replacment..Question is went to Rock Auto and there are an assortment of them
with different prices.. and they are called vehicle/output speed sensor connector..So I surmise it is the same as the vehicle speed sensor.Could you confirm for me.and also there are a few at different prices.would the most expensive be the best?

To stay on the safe side I would order the AC Delco 213306

The lower 4 are the transmission ISS - Input Shaft Speed sensor, replaceable only by total transmission removal and disassembly.

Your VSS is on top of the right hand axle shaft output housing. Right in front of a passenger's toes.
