It appears my ignition cylinder is coming apart in my 04 Deville. Sometimes the key will not go in the cylinder. It appears the first peg in the tumbler binds from time to time. Happens pretty consistently now.

I'm wondering if anyone can provide me step-by-step procedures to replace the ignition cylinder in my Deville. I've replaced them on older GM cars but not one w/ airbags or on a Caddy.

Anything special I need to be aware of because of the Pass Key III system?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I think if you pull the column shrouds it is pretty straight forward. No need to pull the wheel if I remember correctly. A FSM would be a big help.

Be advised that when you think you have a column shrouds loose, they ain't. The lower will fall off, but the upper is still attached from the inside by one male torx head screw.

Thanks Ranger! Where does one get a FSM? I've looked on line & can't seem to find one.

Thanks again,
