I get "Replace battery in RKF". I replaced the battery but,I'm still getting the same message. How to get rid of message permanetly or until new battery fails?

Probably best to start with fresh batteries in both RKE's. If you have one that is low, you will likely get that message.
How is that possible? The RKE without the new battery is in the house. If you don't know an answer it's ok to say I don't know or not give a guess at all.No offense intended.

If that RKE in the house is within about 30' of your car, they can still communicate. If you want to rule out the battery in the house without replacing the battery, take the battery out. The car will recognize only one RKE.

Hey Bugssy....:) the inexpensive red/yellow/green testers can be misleading, a dead battery can read 3 volts but not have any "ooomph" happens all the time on 12 volt car batteries, you need one that load tests the battery. Best bet is to go to a battery store and purchase a different brand name one - or have them test it and see what happens..

a alternative is if your partner uses battery powered candles or other devices that that the same button

I work in IT and PC's take the same battery, we get lots of crappy ones from amazon - there is a secret code on the package that tells the expiration date

I don't have a dog in this fight, but no more than new batteries cost, I think that it would be somewhat silly not to go with new batteries in both remotes at the first sign of a failing battery. Otherwise, it is very possible that you will be in the middle of nowhere when the car fails to start and you are forced to empty the console and fine the little indentation for the RKE and hope that the existing battery has enough juice for just one more start so that you can get home.

I consider keyfob batteries like smoke alarm batteries. If I'm changing one, I change them all, as the others won't be far behind in failing.
Agreed...I changed the batteries in all FOBs for my three vehicles just a week ago. Immediately noticed an improvement in operating range.
