So I open the hood just to find the battery has a hose attach to it and some space ship things I don't understand? Anyone knows how to replace it?

:bighead: omg I thought replacing a battery in any car would be a piece of cake, but this car looks like a spaceship underneath!!! The battery look like it's connect to a hose, idk? Pleases help,, how do you replace 2011 cts coupe battery?

The battery is in the trunk pal. But let's face it if this guy is asking these questions, he shouldn't be changing the battery himself.

But I'll be nice

This website has a picture of the battery location

I'm curious as to why you thought the battery was in the engine bay

Bought the car and never looked under the hood ? One more Cadillac that will have to have the DIC message board scream "Help!!!" before any underhood checks are done.

Replace a 3 or 4 year old battery ?

I had to chuckle about this.

First I pulled out all the plastics around the engine bay looking for the battery, but no battery was to be found.

Then I looked online for how to replace the battery in my 08 CTS.

There were all these how tos (even some mentioning 2010? I dont even get that now) talking about them being UNDER THE SEAT and having to tear out the seats, and peel back the floor. AFter tearing out everything including unbolting the seats and peeling out the carpet, I discover the battery is in the trunk.

I've rebuilt engines and transmissions, rebuilt hydraulic convertible tops, done metal welding work and just about anything else you can do to a car. I am an engineer with a PhD. I have patents and have won awards.

So before you give this author too much of a hard time... Sometimes we all have our down days!

I actually poked around in the trunk and saw some weird panel and pulled it and saw a battery and fuse panel. Saw it when I was checking out my used car before I bought it. Just recently changed the oil in my car and not sure but I could have sworn the air damn under the car was there when I bought it and wasn't there last time I checked. I had taken the car back to the dealer to get a fluid leak fixed so dunno what happened. That was like 4 months ago so no way anyone would remember now. Luckily I guess it is just for air noise so not a big deal.
