I've done several sets, replaced the incandescent bulbs with 12v led bulbs. not that hard to do if your handy with a soldering iron, the hardest part is extracting the switches from the dash. You need to take the dashpad off and the fake wood dash bezel. I'll look around when i get home later, i may have an extra set already done.

the hardest part is removing the padded dash -

there are several threads in the TechTips forum - many of them have pics -

basically - and this is just from memory -

remove the "A" pillar trim by pulling down from the top -

remove the 4 dash vents (this IS the toughest part) -
SOMETIMES you can simply pull them out using pliers -
(wrap electrical tape around the jaws to prevent scratching) -
grab one of the middle louvers - push in and quickly - pull out -

remove the 4 hidden screws behind the vents -

pull the dash pad straight back a couple inches - then tilt it up -

disconnect the wiring harness -

remove the dash pad -

------------------------

you will need to remove the driver side bolster -

remove the attaching screws - then pull STRAIGHT BACK -
DO NOT PULL THE BOLSTER DOWN - you will break the plastic guide pins -

remove the attaching screws that secure the wood trim -

remove the switches -

BE GENTLE with the little blue rubber covers -
if you don't put them back on - the lights will look yellow/pink -

===================

here are the light bulbs - ya 100 IS overkill -

and here are the LED's -

I looked, sorry I don't have them. I sold my last set to a member here a year ago.

Yes they did. Thank you!! I did the steering wheel lights on each side. Wasn't too bad. Take time and solder careful. Whats odd all those switches light up now but the On-Star. Not sure if I messed on that one. If I did happy it was that one.

Same here, my steering wheel is dead on one side, but I'm leaning toward just getting a new switch pod instead of the micro-surgery

I didn't know they were still available or I would just have replaced then. Good experience I guess.

I thought I got your last set. lol. However I put them in and had to take them out. Great job on your part but they are way too bright and don't match anything else on the dash. Believe it or not I found the left side switch brand new on e-bay for $32 from someone who had new old stock (NOS) and a forum member re-did the right side for me (original bulbs) as a favor so he could use them in a promotion picture. I still do have yours but they are in a box with a lot of others and I don't know which ones they are. If I had a way to light them up to see them maybe the op could use them.

You gotta look around because sometimes you get lucky. These two switches I got brand new just so I could have all the lights functioning. The headlight switch was in the GM box and the other switch was in the sealed GM plastic bag.

Yes for the instrument cluster switch, no for the headlight switch. As a matter of fact the headlight switch literally takes 30 seconds, just pop it out, unplug it and pop the new one in.
Like anything else when you know what you are doing it's easy. I can take out the dash pad in 10 minutes, the first time took me a hour and a half, the second time about 30 minutes and the last time about 10 minutes. The hardest part is getting the four dash vents out to access the nuts behind them that hold the front of the dash pad down.
