With 145K and 10 years near the ocean, the wonderfull silver on my 93 Deville's sides and trunk are almost covered in very fine scratches, almost unnoticable under certain conditions.I have it car washed all winter, and do it myself all summer. Will a good detailer doing a compuond/wax job do the trick, or is a new paint job in order?

If they are hairline scratches, and havent gotten into the paint, a good detailing will do the trick.....

Id recommend doing a clay bar, a good polish, scratch remover, and then wax.....

I'd get it profesionally done. It'll come out better then you can do yourself and usually doesn't cost a whole lot. Don't bother getting it repainted unless it really has to be done.
