I have a '66 Deville with a 429, and the AIR system. The air injection manifolds (long pipes that run from the front to rear) have been plugged, and the SMOG pump has been removed. So, the system as a whole isn't operational. However, the manifolds are still there, and have developed holes, and exhaust is exiting through them rather than the exhaust manifolds. I would like to remove them completely; Is there anything at all that can be done to plug the holes in the motor so that i can just remove them? Your help is GREATLY appreciated! (also, any best practices for removing the air injection manifolds in one piece for repair in case there isn't an option to plug the 8 holes?)
