removing instrument cluster

I know next to zip about your particular car (but will post anyway...) so proceed with caution. USUALLY on Cads I have dealt with you take out the 4 HVAC vents and there is one 7 mm hex head bolt behind each vent. Take those out and the top of the dash comes off to get to the IPC. Check for attachment screws by the defrost vents there may or may not be screws there. There were defrost vent screws on my 90 but not on the 99 - I would suspect not for your car but go back to my 1st sentence.
