Has anyone done this?
I want a little bit of a kick speed wise and have no problems choppin that res right off and keeping everything else on the exhausst stock.

So, I know it will be throatier, but will there be alot of drone? I love how quiet the car is on the highway right now. I just don't like alot of drone.

Also, there should be no backpressure problems since people swap to higher flowing muffs all the time...right?

Hopefully the car will sound a little throatier and give me a little performance.

Input is appreciated.

Most of the restriction in the exhaust system on these cars is before the cat, not after. You won't get anything out of it performance wise.

Read "How can I improve the performance of a northstar exhaust system".

On second thought, Read the whole page. Lots of good information there.

Neither the resonator nor the mufflers is the choke point - there are actually 3: The front bank exhaust crossunder to the Y before the cat (and there's NOTHING we can do about that), the smallish exhaust pipe from the resonator to the Y, and the Y and muffler stub pipes themselves.

Here's a look at the rear half of your exhaust system out in the light - you can see the lousy Y and the crimped muffler stub pipes.

The real answer ??? www.corsaperformance.com and do some homework, then go to www.AutoPartsWarehouse.com. $1185 with free shipping.

You MIGHT pick up a few hp at WOT redline - precious few. Unfortunately there is almost nothing we can do to "pick up a little bit of a kick speed wise".

..............and here's what it would look like underneath if you did the CORSA cat-back. 45 minutes on a lift. Piece of cake.

The entire system, resonator and mufflers included, has not one baffle or bend or offset pipes or packing anywhere - it's all straight pipe. You would have to see the tuned holes cut into the different muffler chambers to get the real picture.

I know corsas were the best around for 4th gen FBodies when I had one.
I think I will be skipping it.

Thanks for the info and I will read that link.
Not as easy as shaving off stock air intake fins on a 99 camaro ss. Boy that brings me back, lol

Thanks again!

Ummmmm.... what car(s) have you changed from post #1 to post #5 ??? ...........and if your car is still a 2001 STS, why did you ask the question in the first place ? My answer assumed you still had the STS.

huh? :hmm:

He's saying:

"I've heard from the f-body community that Corsa is good"
"I'll be skipping the Corsa on my Cadillac, however"

"Thanks for the info though"
"Unfortunately, picking up a little bit of kick speed-wise on this Cadillac isn't as easy as some of the tricks on my old Camaro"
