I am going to install a soft fabric top on my 2007 DTS. I like the look.

If I upgrade to a new in-dash stereo with Apple car play I will use that for all navigation. Also, I will not need OnStar. Never used it for 8 years in my Chevy.

So, can I just remove the rooftop antenna so that my new top install will not have to deal with it and cut around it?

Thanks.

What about SiriusXM? Will you be using that?

If not, then you may not need the antenna but they'll have a hole to fill.

When I upgraded to an aftermarket radio. I was able to retain all the factory modules for sat radio, onstar steering wheel controls chimes and the nav antenna. You won't get as good reception on the sat radio removing the shark fin antenna. The antenna comes off the roof so when the new roof is installed there will just be a small hole needed to run the wire through. To remove it you have to drop the back part of the headliner. It's a pita. but doable.

Well, I guess I will leave the antenna. Was hoping removal/relocation would be simple. But, sheesh.. I give up.
I decided to leave the stock stereo alone, it sounds really good to me. So, that will be my XM and Nav antenna for better or worse.

Thank folks
