Took my all seasons mounted on my Mille Miglias off the other day and put back my stock wheels on for the summer. I also took the time to apply Rejex on the inner surface to try to make cleaning off the brake dust a bit easier (though NOTHING seems to make that easier :helpless:). Well, this year, I also applied Rejex to the spokes, rim, and hub areas and was pleasantly surprised at how they looked.

Here's a pic of the left rear (the car is in the garage since it's raining). Looks decent for a stocker, IMHO ... whuddaya think?

Thanks for the compliment ... and good leg work :leghump: finding out about Baker's. j/k :histeric:

Den_93 and I were talking about Baker's the other day. Also, a friend with his SRT8 might like to go. Say, what the heck's wrong with May 3rd, weather permitting?

Those look cleeeeaaaannn!

What city are you guys in Michigan? I'm in northeast IN, maybe sometime I can come check you guys out.
They better be clean! They just got scrubbed down!

We've got three events "penciled in" on the calendar around here. You're really not that far away. May 3rd at Baker's (Milford) weather permitting ... expressway all but about 2-1/2 miles for you. GM Tech Center June 9th for the Hot Rod Performance Tour 2009. And, maybe Milan Dragway just south of Ann Arbor late July/early August.

You mean 2 1/2 hours right? Ha. Is Baker's a track then? You guys tracking, or just hanging out or what?

Bakers is 2 1/2 miles off of a major highway. So for you it should be smooth sailing the whole way. Its basically a place to hang out with a bunch of cool cars.

Milan Dragway is the 1/4 mile track...would be fun to set this one up.

Also, not that I want to rush summer but don't forget about the Woodward Dream Cruise in August!

It's about 175 miles for lolly to Baker's. 'Tis a long way, for sure, to hang out for 2-3 hours. LOTS of cool cars, though.

Milan is like 10-12 miles south of Ann Arbor. I forgot all about the Dream Cruise ... now THAT is a must! :D

I'd like to know if the Rejex keeps the wheels any cleaner or if it makes the brake dust wash right off with just water and no scrubbing. I use Rejex on my airplane wings and the bugs just wipe off. Great stuff.

Mark! Haven't heard from you in forever.

Yeah, that's the theory. It's that things like brake dust come off easier. I've used it on the inner portion of the wheels in the past, but even then the (brake) dust still seems more tenacious than would be to my liking ... I've never actually used it on the spokes before. They really do look better, IMHO, than they ever have.

While I'm on here, any chance of you coming out to Baker's with us sometime?

I've used Rejex for more than 4 years. Brake dust will wash right off with water--or you can do it dry with a soft cloth. Takes just a couple of minutes to do all four wheels. Zaino works just like it (both polymers), bu Rejex is a lot less expensive.

Thanks for the welcome. Mainly been lurking. I have had no complaints or issues with my V in a long time to post stupid questions about. I have also been hanging in the 09 V forum (as I have been tempted enough to trade in my 05 possibly tomorrow).

My experience with Rejex differs.

I bought some, and figured I'd give it the ultimate test. I cleaned both front wheels. Coated one with Rejex, and left the other uncoated. I went to an HPDE weekend at VIR. Came back and and both wheels were jet black with brake dust. I hosed both off, no difference in the color or ammount of brake dust. I light washed each, no difference. I scrubed the crap out of each, no difference between the two.

My $0.02,

Chris

Not really ... I agree wholeheartedly! As I posted, getting the dust off with Rejex or no Rejex is still a b!tch. It's just that the wheels look better with it on than without.

Used to use some kind of spray stuff, but it slings off all over the side of the car. Guys here told me about using gel. I bought some Black Magic Titanium Tire Wet Gel ... it doesn't seem to fling on the side of the car as badly, plus it has a nifty little sponge applicator, too.

The tire shine applicators are a MUST. :2thumbs:
I use the ones you get from autozone....yellow foam part you grab, and then the black foam part that touches the tire. I spray the applicator, then apply it to the tires. You hafta let it sit before you take off though...or like Randy says...flings off on the car.
