I was asked awhile ago to prove the 2nd Amendment was not absolute. Not having the latest edition of SCOTUS cases proved a handicap, but now this will suffice:

Bird vs Gray Davis, et al

Say what you will about Democrats, you righties already hate this party, so your diatribes are nothing new. However, highly Conservative Rehnquist DENIED a Writ of Certiorari. The NRA keeps taking your money while Cons in power keep selling you out. You're too trusting and this makes you easy suckers....election year after election year.

And that is the way it will work. By the time the far right supporters realize what is happing it will be to late. There rights will be gone and they will be saying "what happened??"

That or continue to blame Clinton! Had these fools been on the Titanic, they'd be pumping water onto the boat all the while blaming "Liberal" boat designers!:histeric:

Wasn't Grey Davis that failed Democratic governor from the 'oh so close to being a socialist' republic of California?

So once again, it was a DEMOCRAT infringing on our rights.

That the Supreme Court didn't hear the case is really a secondary issue, and nice deflection from the real fact that a DEMOCRAT was in charge.

Not quite:sneaky:

(taken from Wikipedia)
In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, multiple reports of confiscations of civilian weapons by law enforcement began coming out of New Orleans. Warrentless weapon searches of evacuees were carried out prior to allowing them into evacuation centers [2], house-to-house weapon confiscations were reported [3] [4], and the superintendent of police was quoted as saying "only law enforcement are allowed to have weapons" [5].

On September 12, 2005, National Rifle Association executive vice-president Wayne LaPierre spoke out against these confisications. "What we’ve seen in Louisiana - the breakdown of law and order in the aftermath of disaster - is exactly the kind of situation where the Second Amendment was intended to allow citizens to protect themselves, " LaPierre said. The NRA filed suit in the United States District Court for the Eastern District in Louisiana.

On September 23, the court issued a restraining order barring any further gun confiscations.

So you see, the NRA still fights for the right to own guns, no matter what!

The funny (sad?) thing is that this chump scourge thinks that because the court might think one thing, I would voluntarilly go along with it.

I'll say one thing, and one thing only. We didn't get away from the brits by "peacefull" means. We got away with force. That includes guns. That includes (GASP!!) KILLING PEOPLE WHO WERE INFRINGING ON OUR RIGHTS.

So are fixed elections, one-party rule, and police state orders. But, that's from a GOP president and that makes it all ok too.:bigroll: Eh, some people aren't bright enough to notice a bait-n-switch.

fixed elections
Yeah, yeah, blame it on the voting machines that your man got his ass beat by a margin of over 3,000,000 votes...

one-party rule
Yeah, because the other party can only do one thing correctly: lose elections:devil:

police state orders.
Un-huh. If I recall, it was the LOUISIANA police, not the national guard or other federal law enforcement, that were seizing weapons. Or did i just misread the court decision:hmm:

Voluntary slavery is not outlawd by the Constitution. We already know how desperate you are to love Big Brother. It's not like you have to keep proving your subservience over and over again.

And your party cannot govern with any competence. Your objective is ONLY to win elections while the Democrats choose to focus on policy.

You ignored BUSH considering violating posse comitatus and using the US military to enforce marshall law in case of an avian flu outbreak...which could be expected to happen...oooooh, September of 2006, just conveniently before the elections. I dind it amusing those who worship Southern Heritage remaining quiet about this as it was Reconstruction that led to posse to begin with!

Like I said, as long as it's GOP in power it doesn;t matter how many rights you get stripped of or how much power the Federal government asquires over you - Dems just keep losing elections! Hahahahaha!:bigroll:

Here's the thing. If people had balls to stand up for their freedom, firearms rights would be pretty much self protecting.

Stand up for freedom? Righties/GOP have proven (recently) their hatred of people standing up for their rights. Mocking Liberals while gloating at government encroachment on private decisions. When Cons start to Think, then I'll take you people seriously rather than just give you credit for some comment out of the blue. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
