Regarding the '07 seats...has anybody tried...?

On my racing seats, I take off foam from the seat cushion to give me more headroom, and I don't need the extra padding anyway. Realizing that many are upset at the quality of the seats in the '07, has anyone tried taking the covers off and shaving down the foam a bit? I can imagine that if you simply took off an inch of foam on the center back pad, you'd get nice lateral support from the bolsters (imagine that), and underneath, you could take off an inch and put in a lower density foam instead, giving it more of a cushioned feel, but retaining the support that the higher density foam has. Anybody try it?
