Depends on its proportions. The CTS wagon is not proportioned right to be a wagon IMO. Nor does it have enough seats.

So, technically does a wagon have to have a reverse facing 3rd row seat?

That doesn't look like a typical wagon, but more like that Lincoln MKT. :(

Looks like it could just as well be an Avalon wagon.

Necessary for wagon status.

Unless they fold flat like in the Navigator and Expedition, I find third row seats to be a pain in my ass and a waste of space. For me, a wagon means pooploads of space to haul as many things as your average small to midsize SUV behind that third row (like the 3 and 5 series wagons that have more space behind the rear seat than the X5). I just dropped the third row from the Escalade off to a buyer in Austin on my way to Kansas. Good riddance.

Unless you really need the third row seat for hauling your (too many) kids around a third row seat is just a waste of space, extra weight and something else to rattle. If that many kids is really a problem (hauling them around is a minor problem when compared to the cost of college education) you should be thinking minivan anyway!

Shenanigans. I love my 3rd row, and I hate children.

So what exactly do you do back there in the third row seat? I can't imagine, other than small kids, what it would be good for, except maybe if you had a thing about Peterbilt license plates.

It's convenient to store tools. Also a really great place to hide a cooler (best idea ever).

So is the stow n' go seats on a Grand Caravan or Town and Country.

When I was a kid, my dad had an '89 Taurus LX Wagon, and I remember riding in it's 3rd row seat from time to time and getting car sick.

hehehehe, we had a fire engine red Volvo 240DL when I was a kid. I remember puking in the backwards 3rd row seat as well. I also remember the tan vinyl seats and all that glass made it hot as hell in the summer, wish my parents had discovered window tinting back then.

I've had every car I've owned tinted, it will usually reduce the temps inside the car by a good 20-30 degrees on a really sunny 100 degree day. I keep telling them that they should get their windows tinted, yet they don't listen.
