Before you bring your cars in, make sure they have a fix for it. The status will be on the website. My car got a recall in February for loss of power steering, but still no fix for it yet!

I brought the car in for the recall on Wednesday but they couldn't perform the update as their system went down. Since it isn't a safety problem they said when I bring it back for its oil change they can install it then. I also asked them to install any other updates as well.

In addition to the braking update there were three more: one having to do with a discharged battery "after a remote start event" or a separate issue where a "certain air temperature sensor diagnostic trouble codes could present themselves and indicate a condition in ECM which can lead to discharge of the battery as well. Reprogram the engine control module." This was not done due to system being down.

A second update refers to "evaporative emissions canister purge pump failure. The purge pump may not operate as intended and may cause pump bearing issues which could result in DTC's to be stored and MIL illumination. Replace the evaporative emissions purge pump." I did have this done.

Third update refers to "decreased acceleration hesitation. Certain vehicles may have a condition I which the selectable one way clutch is not released or is stuck on. The vehicle may hesitate or have decreased acceleration. Reprogram the transmission control module. This was not done due to the update system being down.

Not that I don't check my app often..... but how about those that don't?
Shouldn't recalls like this come via the USPS mail as well, like they used to?

Yes of course there is the USPS method and also visiting your dealership for any routine maintenance.

However, t
he App provides an owner a 3rd method which I prefer and is far easier and quicker for owners to view any recent recalls.

Thought I would show what Recall(s) were out there (already shown above by the OP) and I was able to find the same one for my XT4.

So I took some screen shots off of my "myCadillac" app's Recall section.

Thanks for all the info Marc.

I bought my XT4 on May 9th, but it was shipped on Jan. 16, so its been around a while, but recall is the same.
Now I'm getting a blue screen when I put it in reverse and it says "rear camera system needs service"! Only happens intermittently.
Guess I can have that checked out when I do the recall.

Thanks again.

Hi:
I took mine in for a brake recall notice on my Cadillac app. Apparently a computer reprograming is all it took. Also had two other alerts that came as a surprise. A battery discharge issue, again fixed with a computer re-program and a replacement of the evaporative pump, part of the emissions system. Dealer needed car for 4 hours to do the work.

I haven't seen any notice on the cue screen. My wife and I share the car so maybe she closed it? I also have't seen any recall notice on the mycadillac app and I've used it lately.

Anyway yesterday my dealer called to inform me of 3 recalls. She said it would take 3 hours, so I requested a loaner and set up an appointment.

I just looked at the mycaddiac app and a pink bar popped up on top of the screen and then disappeared. I couldn't find anything about the recall. There must be something wrong with my app.

Perhaps you should try again and go through the below 3 steps to see if you can see if you have any active Recalls. The Red & Pink Recall notification does not appear every time you open up the myCadillac app.

  1. NOTE: The Red & Pink shaded area will not appear every time you open up your myCadillac app.
  2. Open up the Vehicle Status area (just below the "Key Fob") and then scroll all the way down to locate "Check for Recall"
  3. You should then be taken to the GM RECALL CENTER where you can see any Open Recalls on your XT4

Marc, your instructions worked. I would have never known recalls were buried there. It seems to me the pink warning bar should come up every time until You have the recalls done. Th one time it did appear I didn't have time to read it before it disappeared-poor.

It also doesn't show my appointment I made for the recall, but it does show an oil change appt made by the dealer when I bought the car months away.

Someone at Cadillac or GM should be updating this app, it needs it.
