what is the red cable at both end of the video cable, the one showed by the pen, what is the utility ?

Looks like a grounding wire? Which wire attaches to the reverse tail lights wire in the car? You might want to try one of the car audio forms for answers as well. Like AVIC411. All they talk about is car audio and video systems & installation.

Wire for reverse trigger is under dash. The only 2 wires that get brought to the camera are power (red) and video feed (yellow)

Wesyder you seem very familiar with this kind of stuff,can it be viewed from the nav radio head unit?

Yes with a vci module from http://www.pac-audio.com if you have the touchscreen nav you're gonna need the vci-gm2

Power cable, you don't believe me? How else would the camera get power? Yellow is for video just like you hook up your cable box or DVD player

the power cable are already connected to the backup light wires, and cam is powered.there is a wire with a fuse identified backup cam at the rear of the radio,
maybe that wire connect there and other end at the backup light?

Red wire goes to reverse light bulb so when the reverse lights are on the camera gets power

i would connect the red wire from the camera to the same red wire that powers the stereo, the reverse lights from the vehicle connect to the violet/white wire on the back of the stereo.. The reason why i don't use the reverse wire to power the camera is some stereos will let you access the camera while your driving, if you power the camera only in reverse this feature cannot be used

So many ways to wire it up but in the end you get the same results. Easier to hook it up behind the radio and give it full time power and then when it reads reverse it switches over to the camera. Plus you would only have to run the yellow to the rear of the truck
