I'm confused on this issue. The owner's manual for my 2003 Deville directs me to see the dealer for service. Another thread here says it takes three 3051 Bulbs, and the gut at Advance Auto says it takes a $69.00 plasma LED unit. the dealer tells me that unit runs around $200. but they will want to check other things before making a replacement. Before spending a minimum of $200 I wanted to inquire if this is a do it yourself job. steve

The 2003 Deville uses an array of small LEDs for the brake and turn signal. If it's not working, check the wiring or replace the assembly.

Yup, "non serviceable" LED.

"Plasma LED unit" is most likely just their aftermarket assembly.

:yeah: Someone one sent me a picture of one opened up, but I no longer have it. Might have posted it here, but I can't find it. :noidea:

Yep, got the stealership message guys. Just to wrap up this thread, water leaked into the light unit and caused it all to short out. Replacement unit....$385.00 + $20 to install. Done. What the heck: it's a Cadillac.

Chris is no longer with Rippy. Rippy will most probably cease online parts ordering/shipping.

Maybe Lindsay Cadillac in Alexandria, VA still does the same sort of thing for CF members.
