Rear hatch closes without command in cold weather. It is not under power, it just closes. Is a little bit of a surprise while removing groceries. Have any other wagon owners had this experience?

Just curious if you can confirm whether the rear hatch has a power close feature and you're experiencing it behaving with "a mind of its own", or the cold weather is promoting the liftgate to simply close by itself without power assist, due to its weight... I remember that the struts supporting the hatch on my '98 Camaro SS were next to useless in keeping the hatch up in colder winter temps.

Gotta love our Canadian winters!

Best regards,

My daughter had this problem with her '10 standard CTS wagon. Fixed under warranty. Sorry, but I don't know what was done to repair it. She was told they had to pull down the headliner to get at the motor and hydraulics that control the hatch door.
