Have a new Escalade 2021 and can't really figure out the best way to show pre-recorded videos to the rear entertainment screens. Kids have Amazon tablets but hooking them up didn't work. Open to suggestions.
Have they fixed this design flaw?I'm running an Amazon Fire Stick on ours. You can either connect it to the in-vehicle Wifi or use your phone as a hotspot. We are using the Escalade's wifi and it works great. You just have to turn off the auto stop feature or else the video goes dark at every stoplight. That's about the only "WTF???" design flaw I've been frustrated by, so far.
I made a report with Cadillac and talking to my dealer about it. They need to fix this. No, the whole thing sucks the way it works
What do you mean you can't stream movies from the iPad? You can't play already downloaded content on you iPad or phone and stream via bluetooth or USBC to HDMI? It has to be from something like Roku or Apple TV? Page 176 of the manual shows it should be able to stream via HDMI to USBC/lightning cable adapter from your iPad or iPhone no problem. Not wireless but should still easily stream whatever your Apple device is showing. https://my.cadillac.com/content/dam...dynamic/manuals/2021/cadillac/escalade/2021-cadillac-escalade-owners-manual.pdfMe too. You should be able to stream saved movies from and iPad/iPhone to the screen. It’s stupid you can’t.
It should. We do that in all of our cars. You may just need to hit Source as HDMI on the Escalade menu for the screen so it knows something is connectedWhy would'nt this work?

Yup. This is exactly what I experience and the only workaround is to remember to turn off auto stop with each crank. If I don’t, a child will yell loudly at me from the backseat. Stupid design.Looks
Look what I found for the outlet turning off with Start/Stop feature ....

It's the EPA, and it's annoying AF.Yup. This is exactly what I experience and the only workaround is to remember to turn off auto stop with each crank. If I don’t, a child will yell loudly at me from the backseat. Stupid design.
In truth, I’d like to find the guy that decided default auto stop was a good idea and string him high in a tree. So stupid.
Tap/hold for a second in the bottom left hand corner of each screen and they will come on. If yours doesn't, it's not operating the way it should. Also - I have yet to figure out how to turn the screens on from the back - I can only turn them on from the front. The dealer didn’t know either. Does anyone know how to turn them on from the back?
We will finally pick up our Escalade this week. I was hoping it didn’t have that auto stop crap. I really don’t want to have to turn it off every time I start it. I hope there is a way to turn it off permanently. This has to be to most ridiculous feature to show up on vehicles...just stupidI'm running an Amazon Fire Stick on ours. There may be something aftermarket that comes out to disable it permanently, but car manufacturers are unable to make it where you can turn it off permanently. We will finally pick up our Escalade this week.
