I have an engine light code on my 06 DTS that reads deteriorated or old transmission fluid. Transmission service has been done recently and fluid looks and smells like new. Can this be re-set on board like the oil life or will this be another expensive diagnostic fee? Thanks

It only could be done by a tech 2 scanner or the dealer. But you should not get a check engine light for it.

Thank you grullon10! In the winter after it's rained or any type of precip., then freezes, I'll get an air pump code that my mechanic believes causes the sensor to detect any moisture nearby, especially when it freezes around the sensor the pump. Never occurs during the Spring, Summer or Fall. However, the transmission serviceman says that was the only code he remembers seeing on his scanner. What I didn't state in my original posting was that this transmission is a recent replacement with about 43K original miles. Just wanted to keep it simple but now realizing that was a major surgery and should have stated that from the beginning. Was not getting the code before replacement even with 194K on the car.
