Re: a/c compressor shut down

My a/c compressor was shut down by the pcm due to extremely low coolant in the system (the display tells me this...). It was evacuated and recharged by Pep Boys, but the compressor isn't reset, and they don't know how to reset it. I tried removing the pcm fuse for 45 seconds, and even removed the a/c compressor relay for 45 seconds, but to no avail. Does anyone know how to reset this?? It's 95 degrees here!! I have a 1997 Seville SLS.

reset

It can be done through the DIC, but try disconnecting the battery
for at lest half a hour.( Good time to clean the connections.)

Thank you Dave; I disconnected the battery for 5 minutes, and it worked like a charm. And to think that the Caddy dealer I called this morning said "The compressor always resets itself when the charge is full; must be a switch or relay gone bad....". Good thing I tried this simple fix of yours first!!
