Just a little annoyance i have when the sub hits is that the rear view mirror rattles like crazy and it gets pretty loud. I dont mind that it shakes, I jus mind the noise it makes when doing so. I thought of maybe putting some dynamat on the back of it, but I don't want to make it look crappy. Is there some way of tightening the mirror so it won't shake? Thanks in advance.

They used to have a set screw in the base to tighten them but I think that was done away with. When I had the windshield replaced on my '97 Deville it was loose. I found that it was not replaced properly. Once it is snapped into place, it should be tight. Was it ever removed?

Will it move by hand? Try sliding it up towards the roof.
Some have a set screw, some have a spring loaded clip.
It's not uncommon on the clip style for them not to be pushed down all the way. It is tricky to push it down because it feels like you are going to rip the button of the windshield, and sometimes you do!
If there is a set screw, make sure it's tight.

I have a '97 in the shop, it has the spring clip on it.
I don't know if I could get a good photo of it through the glass or not but if you really want I might be able to try.

Pulling it up towards the roof will tell you if it's on right or not though.
