96 you can get away without the gmos-03 (or gmrc-03) which is needed in 97 plus even if you remove the bose to maintain the data bus

you need the basic 32 pin harness to get an ignition (red) wire and the ground. you NEED to run your own constant from the + pos terminal of the battery to the yellow constant on the hu

run your own
as i said you ONLY use the ground and ignition wire from the factory harness
any audio place will have the basic 32 pin harness, make sure you get the 32 pin not the 24

With the bose system, each speaker has its own little amp. With a new HU, the only amp you need is in the HU. That's why you need to rewire the speakers to the new HU. You may also need to extend the antenna wire to go to the dashboard to hook up to the new HU also.

So to recap:
-put your own wire from the positive terminal of the battery to the new HU
-Take the ignition and ground from the old harness and hook it up to the new HU
-Run your own wires from each speaker to the new HU
-extend the antenna wire to go from the trunk to the dashboard.
-Crack open a cold one and listen to some tunes on your new radio

so my 96 STS with Bose can use the GMRC-03? I was told GMOS-03 only?

Also, a list of my things to install with would be:

Mounting Kit
Antenna
GMRC/GMOS-03

And that's it? Or do I need something else? The headunit i bought has no harnesses, just RCA harnesses, so I need to know if I'm missing something.

Thanks.
