They do that when they are in the middle of an “Over the Air” software update. It’ll eventually fix itself. If it does not, have the dealer look at it. They can force the update to complete.
If the car does Over The Air (OTA) GM software updates on other makes like the Corvette
Radio on is telling you it is in the process of downloading and installing the updates

If it does not turn off for some time there was a TSB about problem affecting OTAs and will need a GM dealer to flash the correction in
As hard as it will be just turn the vehicle off, get out and walk away.
Let it do it's thing overnight.
Don't keep opening the door.
Don't turn it on and off.
Just leave it alone.
If that doesn't fix it then take it to the dealer where they will force the update.

It does that when a update is ready. You have to Ok the update to proceed, so it will
do that until you do the update. It tells you about the update, with some dos and don'ts,
so read it over, then tell it to continue when ready.

I drove my vehicle tonight and the radio would not shut off. Also flashing that the SD card was removed. The SD was not removed and radio stayed on for about 5 minutes. I then removed the SD card and replaced it. Made 3 more stopes radio would not shut off. Drove vehicle for 45 minutes to get home ould not shut off for nearly 5 minutes after I got home.

Are you asking for help or adding to OTA experience?

If your vehicle is a 2019+ XT6 this is a sign of an over the air update being sent to your vehicle.
Just get out of the vehicle, lock the doors and walk away. Don't check on it, don't open and close the doors. Just let it sit overnight. After a few days it should prompt you that an update is ready to install. Follow the instructions. If it does this for more than a week or if you are very concerned you can take it to a dealer where they can install the update for you.

It’ll fix itself when the update completes.

I have a 2021 XT6 that is a year old. Have had no problems with radio shut off after opening driver side door until last night. Radio stayed on for about 5 min after turning engine off, and then opening and closing the driver side door. Tried this 3 or 4 times last night, and each time the radio stayed on. I found this thread hoping to find some advice on how to address the problem. Decided to take the advice of CSIMME01 and let it sit over night. I found this morning, without doing any additional intervention, the problem appears to be resolved, as the radio shut off when driver side door was opened. I had no indication that a software update was ongoing, and when I checked the settings app for an update it said no updates were available. Also had the car at the service department a couple of weeks ago for an oil change and was informed no software updates were available. So not sure this was associated with a software update, but appears problem was resolved just by shutting down and letting it sit over night.

Just an update, my car has been back to the dealership 4 times in the last 5 weeks. Still having problems with GM updates, SD card and the vehicle doing strange electronic "ghosts". Received a call from Cadillac. They want me to take my vehicle back to the dealership on Monday and they are having the district rep come in and assist with the electronic problems. I really enjoyed the vehicle, but now I am to the point I'm looking for another vehicle, not sure at this point if I will buy another GM product.

I was the same way. According to my car that had less than 1000 miles on it, I had ran over several pedestrians. Then the rear camera wasn’t working correctly. I was fed up as well. After the last visit, it seemed fixed. Until…today. The radio now won’t turn off. For $70k, I would think a better resolution would be in the fix. Not to mention I’m asked to pay for an Uber now instead of a loaner for all the issues I paid high dollars for. Frustrated!
