These answers are dependent upon WHICH RADIO you have. Assuming the base OEM radio:Few things actually.
1. How do I tell if my 04 has XM or not would it come up when pressing source/band?
2. How can i turn off the volume adjust under acceleration. I hate it when it turns up when I speed up.
3. How can I change the display to show the artist and song playing on regular FM?
I havent really messed with it much, but I dont think you can have it display all the time... What I do, and i know this is lame, i turn the volume up and down one notch and read the screen because it will then display all the info from the FM station.... sad isnt it? I hate this ****ing radio3. As far as I know, you can't. (I have the OEM radio and it can't be set up for FM; even the XM stuff won't display all the time.)
Agree. As I have posted before, my hubby's cheapass F150's radio has more options. :lol:I havent really messed with it much, but I dont think you can have it display all the time... no harm no foul, but ive searched through it. The display in detail is not brought up. I overlooked the auto sound level and the xm thing I more meant does it have to be unlocked versus just hitting band/source till comes upNot trying to be a jackass, but do you have an owner's manual? Your answers will be found there. Good luck.
come on, im not a complete tard...lolYou realize that you have to subscribe to xm, right? I think you select XM on the band, then dial to 0 for the radio ID. You can then contact XM to subscribe. Sorry I can't be more help.
Press "Band" to cycle through the available radio bands. If all you get is AM and FM then you don't have XM installed. If you get the XM Preview channel, then you need to contact XM to set up an account to activate your radio.Few things actually.

Get out your owners manual (or download it from www.mygmlink.com). Push in on your tuning knob to cycle through the programming options.2. How can i turn off the volume adjust under acceleration. I hate it when it turns up when I speed up.
The FM station has to be broadcasting an RDS signal for this to work. Not all FM stations do this. You need to program one of the four "softkeys" that flank the radio to display "info" (look for the big "I" icon). When you press this, whatever portion of the RDS signal while the display is up will be displayed. Note that only a few stations send the artist/song via RDS. Most stations only send their station ID and/or slogan. The Cadillac CTS (and SRX) radio is pretty lame in that it only displays the RDS message for a few seconds before returing to the clock.3. Sorry bud, but not everyone wants to just deal with it. I am sure there are things on your car you want to change correct?I have the 06 w/Bose and it is great. Roll down the window doing 70 and
the system turns up the volume automatically. I haven't found anything
tied to the good old speed volume settings but it's no big deal.
Like SvB4EvA, I just move the volume wheel on the steering wheel
a notch up or down and the display changes on the radio. It's silly
but that must be what Cadillac thinks us owners want. As far as
the volume changes between XM, FM, and the CD player...deal with
it. XM is much more clear for me so when I switch from FM to XM
I automatically drop the volume down a notch. When switching from
most CDs to XM, I drop it down in volume a LOT.
