Hey what going on everyone. I thought i'd tell you guys a little bit about my race experience vs te above 2 cars. They both were my friends and kept talking to each other at the gym the other day, how they can smoke each other's cars.

Nehow let me try and make this long story short...I asked them to race after workout and i will join in, they looked at me and laughed, saying " you're car is nice looking but those GMs have no power". I smiled and said "you're right, i just wana have a little bit of fun".

So first me and the audi A4 turbo (my friends name is harp) came side by side. (He has a 6 speed manual and i have a 5 speed auto.) we waited on a traffic light and we both floored it. For first 0.5 sec he went ahead of me, after which he didnt even catch on to me. I beat him by 2 cars at least. He is pushing approx 260horses, its the AWD.

Next came (evan) with his 2003 Acura RSX type S with the curb weight of 2600pounds i think and has 205hp stock. he has a K&N cold air intake and $1000 exhaust. He also have a 6 speed manual transmission. We waited at the traffic light again. he was ahead of me from the start until my car reach over 5000 rpm. Then we went side by side until 60km/h, then I went ahead of him by half a car and beat him like that. We stopped at 145kms/hr.

After the race their faces were priceless and they were making alot of excuses. I have 20 inch rims on my 2003 3.2L CTS with borla exhaust. I have volant air intake ( a little bit customized by my friend). and i use 94 octane fuel and synthetic oil in my car.

Thats all, thanks for reading my story....

:cookoo: Its good to know you beat an Acura Rsx type S six speed manual, because my friend has almost the same car, except different intake, (AEM) and said he smoked a cts, which I don't believe because he says his car is lighter, therefore it will go faster, but he also didn't mention that it has FWD with torque steer :thepan: . :histeric: Which I think is lousy in a sports car.

 Good News

Good story. I feel better knowing I can put two more notches on the peg when I see someone driving these cars.

BTW, the excuse about the wheels from your friends is lame. Larger wheels will only slow down the car because it adds mass to the driveline. If your friends should argue against this point, just tell them this is proven theoretically (through calculations) and empirically (on the dyno).

soeaking of which, what exactly is the difference between the 3.2 and 3.6 other than 4 tenths of a liter? i'm talking numbers like torque, 0-60, and top speed

anyone, anyone?

and yes, thats great news...especially since i have the 3.2 with borla and volant CAI...

I forget the HP on the 3.2 but the 3.6VVT is 255HP and 252 lbs of torque. That's a start on the info.

Stock, the 3.2 is 220HP and 218 lb-ft. With a Borla and Volant, my car dynoed right around 200 RWHP (and 200 lb-ft at the wheels) which is around 250 HP at the flywheel. (this tells me the single exhaust is very restrictive). Incidentally, the bigger rims WILL eat up torque and HP. The difference between stock 17's and lightwight 18's (9 lbs difference each) was 4 RWHP on the dyno. Volant alone made 5 RWHP over stock intake, with the other 25 RWHP due to the Borla.

R&T tested the stock 3.2L 5-speed at 7.0 sec, 0-60, and 15.5 @ 91.5mph in the quarter mile. Top speed is supposedly 147, but mine had a 120mph speed limiter installed with the latest engine calibration software (by accident I hope).

Can't wait for Pete's headers.

wow, i'll have to assume that my car is roughly around 250 at the flywheel also, as we have pretty much the same setup, less wheels. i still have my stock 17's. so tradionally, what kind of increase do you think the headers will have? are they more prone to improve torque or HP? how much do you think? whats your hypothesis?

You gonna try the headers and cats yourself Ody? Pete said 6-7 hours if you know what you're doing. They're installed from the bottom of the car so a lift sure would be nice. That long on your back has gotta be a killer. I can't do it. My dealer get $65/hr or about $455 bucks labor. Pete's pumped the price up for his additional processes. I bet it will be over $1500 for me.

So the A4 was a modified 1.8T, correct? Stock, the new 2001's only push 170hp at the crank, and run around a mid 7 0-60; they aren't that quick, minus the AWD launch for the first few seconds. 260hp would place him over a stock B5 S4's 2.7 liter twin-turbo putting out 250hp at the crank. I'm only wondering because my friend is an Audi guy and his slightly modified B5 A4 1.8T puts down around 220awhp and he'll walk over my 3.6 all day. The RSX is a good kill though, even though the K20a is quite possibly one of the best four bangers ever conceived.
