i am thinking about getting a 09 import version of the cts, but the price for the 2.8L fully loaded is 418k RMB or about 61k in dollars and 588k rmb or 86k for the 3.6L fully loaded. my question is do you think the car is worth so much? i definitely like the fact that the cts will be unique, ive only seen one in the streets. but would you guys pay cts-v prices for a normal cts? or for that much would you go for something else? the bmw's and benz are a bit cheaper since some of them are made here, but the high end stuff is still imported.

The Import CTS Will always be lower in resale value in the USA and will need some changes to pass FED laws. As for the BMW & Benz are assembled in the USA but the CTS is BUILT in Lansing MI and the drive-line components are built in Michigan & Ohio, body panels in Indiana. Buy America made products an help our country get back to work.
Foreign vehicles are usually more costly when it comes to repair.

RMB? The OP is from China, right? I'd guess that few, if any, forum members can offer an informed opinion about relative value and pricing of an import CTS in the Chinese market.

FWIW, here's an interesting CTS factoid: In the U.S. the MSRP of a fully-loaded 2009 CTS 3.6L DI FE2 RWD is about equal to the annual U.S. real median household income of $50,233 USD (U.S. Census Bureau, Aug 2008).

i'm not chinese, i'm from ny, i just live here, i just wanted to know if you guys think the quality of the car is good enough to pay so much, since i moved here 5 years ago i have been driving an accord (japanese import version) its never given me any problems. i still have another 5 or so years here so i want a car that will last me that long, also i'm a pretty aggressive driver. so the car will be pretty much abused in those 5 years i dont really care about resale value, just a solid car, thats dependable, and can take 5 years of abuse, is the CTS that car? thanx for your replies -T0X
