Hey guys, have a 2003 CTS. I put a cluster from an '06 USA car in it (US standard), but would like the metric version as converting it all of the time is a pain.

My question is, what did the Canadian (or metric versions) of the cluster look like in Canada for 2006/7 (not sure if the change with the chrome bezels happened in 06 for sure) - I've spoke with yards and the dealer and no one has a straight answer lol.

Could someone show me a pic of their metric cluster (if it exists)

Thanks for your help guys!

Why are you even converting at all?

The numbers stays the same, it's the needle that adjust when you change metric/SAE in the radio. I know that you can't go through the menu set up while driving. So make one of the 4 soft buttons as a unit changer. Then while driving, press the button a couple times. You'll see the needle move to the correct number that is needed for that unit (metric/SAE).

To double check this, use your phone with a free app that allows you to see your speed and what not.

I don't have the DIC anymore lol, it was replaced by a pioneer appradio. Thanks for your help though, appreciate it.

Is there an actual metric cluster for the 2006 and 7 though?

There is a metric specific one, as it has more numbers on the top end. But both the metric and SAE cluster have the ability to adjust the needle.

Since you don't have the DIC any more, well then you're sol. Not even sure if the metric one would show the correct number.

Ahhh ok, I was looking at that one but the base MPH threw me off. Although I think even the V would have a few issues getting up to 260 lol.

Thanks KOT, your help is much appreciated.

Do you mean this one:

View attachment 296337 or does it look like this one KOT: View attachment 296353
Both of these clusters and the one that I posted above all have the ability to show metric or SAE. The numbers don't change, but the needle does. However, you'll need the DIC to make that happen.

This is the main reason why there is a metric and SAE cluster.

If he had the SAE cluster installed, but set to metric. Then the needle would max out at 160, but still be able to go physically faster.

I will go through the Tech 2 scanner tomorrow and see if I can override the setting in there, if not I can acquire a DIC and install it for long enough to make the change then put everything back -- if that will keep it saved it in metric.
