Could someone clarify what is needed to install a new double din deck in an 03 escalade? I am more confused after reading everything. I don't care about onstar but i would like to keep wheel controls but it is not imperative. I have the factory Bose without nav. The local shop told me it would be $400 for the correct parts. There must be a way around this? Like aren't we talking speaker wires and power here? Thanks!

While I am no expert, there are many things tied into the factory radio. If you want the steering wheel controls as well as door chimes, you will need to buy an interface. I know the info is her in forum, you just need to search for it. I also think you will loss the CD changer and rear seat controls. Lastly, if you have a DVD player that will be an issue also.

You need a factory integration interface in order to retain the Bose speaker system and the chimes
Here is what you need to work the radio

Here is the one for the steering wheel controls

Here is the dash kit(if needed)

I got a used factory nav(since I have a media gateway that has both iPod connectivity and Bluetooth)
