Hello my fellow cadillac enthusiasts! So I have a 2006 Cadillac STS4 3.6 liter, that I replaced all the exterior door handles on with some used 08+ model door handles. The vehicle has the proximity unlock feature that allows me to simply pull the door handle, and it automatically unlocks. The problem I am now having is that after replacing the door handles, that feature is no longer working. I’ve tried on both the drivers side as well as the passenger with the same result. Anybody know if these door handles are programmed to the fob, and if so, is there any way to reprogram them?

The door handles are not programmed. Did the doors unlock okay before you changed the handles? Does the little LED inside the door light up when you lift the handle?

Yes they were all working ok. The red led just turns on as if the fob is not present

You need to compare wiring between the '06 and the '08. Try www.alldatadiy.com. The other possibility is that the'08 handles have failed.
