New to the forum I don't yet own a Cadillac. By the end of this year, I hope this will change.
As the title implies I am looking at a CTS v first-gen and an ATS 2.0t (manual)

These cars are otherwise uncomparable. However, they are about the same price on the used car market.

I want a 4 door car that RWD with a manual. These two vehicles are in my price range and tick off all the right boxes.
I would REALLY like a CTS v. I think having a v8 sedan is awesome. However, I worry about potential problems (differential) additionally they all seem to have really high mileage. These cars are older than 10 years now.
whereas the ats doesn't seem to have any known issues and is more economical.

I am used to doing my own wrenching (i own a 67 vw beetle) this car would be my daily driver and my only car. I think my goal is to go twelves in the quarter-mile either way.

Thanks for any consideration.

I had the 1st gen CTS 3.2 and the 2nd gen CTS 3.6.

You really can’t compare the cars. Build quality is so different as it can be. The ATS is even newer (and better).

You get a fast car for sure with the V but if you like turning too go with the ATS. With the weight of the ATS the 2.0T will not be bad.
