I am really sorry about the poor quality of the picture, but it was taken by myself with my cell phone camera at night doing 250kmh (155Mph)...
But the needle is exactly in between the 240 and 260 indication.

That had to be a little hairy one handing that pic. Not recommended I'm sure at that pace, nice run however.
It was a three lane freeway at night with hardly any traffic and pretty straight. And the car stays very stable at those speeds. But considering the quality of the picture, you can tell I was not taking my time to make a nice picture but keeping my eyes on the road as much as possible. But indeed not recommended...

I've had mine up to 240km/h on several occasions, add in the fact that I was on 20's and the speedo is out a significant amount at those speeds, I figure i had to actually have been doing 255km/h+ and I've never hit the governor on the car, don't even know if they have one...do they? I find the car handles like a dream at speeds around 180 km/h, anything faster than that raises the hair on my knuckles.

What's with the ECM rev/speed limiter? When does that kick in?
Something tells me that if he's already going 155+, it doesnt have one. I was near 146 and stil had some left to go but was too scared to try.

I bet it took quite a while to get up that speed, and pretty sure that that is about as far as shes gonna get, if you look at that tach.

Please, everyone, I love you all like family now.... Dont go out and try to see if you can beat this unless your on a track!! :D :D :D

From past posts we had heard it was 145mph but this is a european version I think.

Nope - I've seen 240KM on mine - then a weird thing happens. Those objects that you thought you should be going *towards* suddenly appear as if they are flying *AT* you!! I ran out of space before I could determine what the top end is. The tach looked like I still had a litle room to go. FYI: I did this without using the sportmode. The only time I have used the sport mode was on Mosports back straight and hit 180KM before I had to get on the brakes. The sportmode seems as if it is all noise and a bit harsh on the engine so I don't use too often. If there is some rev limit it must be on models without the sports pak and the 17" W rated tires I have.

The road I choose to see how fast my car can really go is also a 3 lane 'dead' highway. I wouldn't do that if others were on the road, nothing is around there, not even civilization...lol I've had many vehicles up to their top speed and its very apparent when you hit it... I'm still digging to find mine, but its a little scary driving that fast for more than a couple mins. I suspect the car has a limiter of about 155mph, as I didn't feel like she had much juice to go any faster than that!

fun but safe times! :)

I don't believe ya, that's not SAE corrected :) Heh heh. I hit just under 150 in mine, before running outta room and it still had a bit left, but it was slowly gaining at that point, real slowly. Felt pretty solid tho, more solid then the 2 of the 3 modes in my S60r.

well, if you keep flooring it, the automatic will stay in 4th gear. You are pretty much at the limit of the RPM at about 240kmh. So I then release the gas for a second and but it back in when it shifts further to 5th. Then slowly it will reach 250kmh ;)
