What do you guys want to see on the ATS-V this year? Here's what I'm working on:
  • Custom machined clutch
  • Alcantara headliner and pillars
  • CTS-V3 19 gal fuel tank fitment check
  • Modified BMR rear subframe connectors
  • Custom P3 Gauges V3 OBD2 gauge cluster
  • Focal Flax + Helix V + AVB-GM with OEM sub location
  • Deep dive into PDR retrofit, digital dash, and camera mirror install
  • Dyno testing incremental mods from stock up to about 650 RWHP
Probably the most interesting thing on the horizon is seeing how fast the car is with lower inertia components. The components aren't special--they're just expensive. AP Racing brakes and magnesium wheels. There really isn't much else you can do to the car to make it lighter, unless you want to replace the battery with lithium ion and make a titanium exhaust. Still looking for a compatible 3.27 or 3.50 gearset for the differential.

Probably the weirdest idea I've had is making some carbon components. I've had some training in making molds and I know how to make smaller parts for bikes; I'd really like to make a couple of aero plates for the bottom of the car, over the transmission and around the rear end, replacing the OEM muffler feature. Flat floors = fast flow.

Another thing I'm sorta working on, but mainly plan on outsourcing, is modifying the front bumper to fit the CTS-V3 DRLs. I love the look of the V3 DRLs straight down to the bottom of the splitter. While you can buy some Chinese bumpers that support CTS-V3 DRLs, the quality and fitment is not up to par.

Something I was hoping someone would work on is a stiffer shear plate for better handling. The GM plate is good, but I think it can be better. I also need to dig into the DSC Sport Controller and Gen 4 mag ride shocks but I'm already at task saturation.

I'm waiting on my digital dash from White. I also need to find out why I'm having PCV/blowby/oil in charge pipe issues and if they're related to my smoke out of the exhaust on high rpm/boost situations. It's at the detailer right now getting corrected and coated.

I'm planning to finally install the WPX lowering springs that have been sitting in a box for a year and a half. Going to take the opportunity to ensure the suspension is still healthy and set up properly too. Under hard acceleration the rear end wags back and forth, reminds me of being on slicks with 20psi in them. IF the year is good to me financially, I plan to wrap the car too- my almost 7 year old Black Raven paint is showing it's age.

This is what I’m interested in. Hate that we don’t have a viable option.

What is this DSC Controller concept?
It lets you retune the damper behavior on your own, rather than being limited to only the factory tuning.

Granted, the factory has spent tons of time and money tuning the suspension and optimizing it for all the factory components and for the car to have great performance under various usage conditions, but the factory tune might not be 100% correct for your desired behavior or may need tweaking after mods for best performance (spring rate change, stabilizer bar rate change, suspension component weight change, tire compound change, intended use of the vehicle, etc.) The DSC Sport controller allows you to retune the damper behavior.

Very cool stuff. They also offer retrofit controllers and dampers for vehicles that didn't originally have e-dampers.

This is really cool. Being able to fiddle (we're car guys, we always fiddle) just seems awesome. Makes me think of how many reviews across the car world you read about how "touring mode is too hard and rattles your teeth and track mode is like driving on bricks for tires", and how much this can change the way the car feels from comfy to angry.
