I've searched all over for the procedure and nothing works for me to program a new key for my 07 ext. ive tried the insert old key turn to on, swap to new key but the lock light never goes out even after waiting 15 minutes. Oddly enough I could start it with the new key and it threw a service theft deterrent system message up. Functions fine with old key. Possible bad key? Is there a way to test the transponder?

Are there alternatives or am I stuck with dealing with a dealership on this one? It's odd too that my tire pressure sensors won't relearn either no matter what. That said I did add a new fob no problem.

Ideas?

That's what I've tried thus far. I wonder if the new key is faulty. It's supposed to be GM OEM and has the little plus in a circle on it. I've tried just turning to ON, i've tried starting the engine, I've waited 15 minutes with the new key in but the security lock light never goes away.

I'm sure my truck is just "that one" as is always my luck. My VIN wasn't included in that whole recall for the crappy interior door handles, I can't relearn my tire pressure sensor locations and now this.
