It seems like this truck has a long list of problems and I just wanted to see if anyone is experiencing something similar to me. For some reason my XM radio signal goes in and out and in and out constantly, to the point where you can't waste your time listening to it. I called XM and they said that they would resend the signal. So far, I have had that done twice. They told me that it needs to go back to Cadillac for them to fix it as there is nothing else they can do at this point.

Also, my passenger sign running board makes this crackle/crunching noise when going up and down. I looked underneath and power washed around the area but it is still making the noise.

And to top it all off, there is an imperfection in the paint above the grille that I still need to get fixed. They told me when I bought it in December that they would take it to the body shop when I brought it in for the first oil change. And don't even get me started on the the cameras! :mad2:

Anyways, has anyone had problems with their XM or retractable running boards?

Find out when you car was built.
Many of the earlier models had the paint imperfections.
Most of those after the winter of 2014 seem to corrected those problems.

Also do you have a 2015 (w 6 speed trans) or a 2015i (w 8 speed trans)?

I have had no XM radio problems and
no problems with my power steps.

Dealer replaced the XM Antenna when our XM radio went dead completely. Power running boards have been ok. I have had a long list of issues and my Escalade has been back at the dealer at least 10 times since I took delivery of it back in November. I am waiting to see how long it will take until new issues arise. It never fails. It seems everyday or every week, there was a new issue that pops up.

I just noticed that after tilting the XM antenna water came out. It must be coming from the hole at the back. After looking at my previous escalade service manual, removal is only from the inside ceiling. I guess I just have to plug it with some silicon instead of risking some leakage.

In reference to your running boards, have you tried lubricating the hinge points? I always do this once a month with a spray clear lubricating grease.

YES! Same here.....my radio is being replaced Monday. I have already had the DVD player replaced.....now it makes an annoying rattling sound. The headphones no longer work, the key fob doesn't always allow me to lock the vehicle. SUPER annoying....my dealer is over an hour away.....they offer a loaner but it's never anything large or with a dvd player. Why pay $92K to NOT have what you paid for?

I would have the radio replaced....sounds like a short.....very similar to my issue.

My Jag had the same problem. Since its a weekend car, I considered not renewing the subscription after the trial period ended. Reception was THAT BAD.

After the second dead battery in as many months, the dealer diagnosed a bad XM headunit. Repalced it and the radio/nav module. XM still loses the signal if I drive under a particularly wide overpass or heavily treed area.

You do know that it's a satellite setup(not like am/fm) so the trees and over passes will effect the signal(I have that happen even with the portable tuners)
Yes.

It's never been a problem in any of my other vehicles, but the Jag repeatedly/frequently loses the signal even on a partly cloudy day. It's very frustrating. Yet another reason why I don't drive it that often.

I would bet it's a bad antenna if the tuner isn't bad

Also a damaged cable can cause intermittent signal issues so there that possibility
