So I buy the new S6 phone so I can use the wireless charging.

It is hit or miss getting the phone to charge.

I also have issues with CUE not being able to play any of the music I have on the phone.

Pandora plays some of the time, hot or miss there too.

Anyone else have issues or thoughts?

As I noted in the "wireless charging" post, the fact that the S6 has a super-slippery back means that the phone WILL slide away from the "critical" charging spot for that phone, which is with the phone's bottom edge right up against the side-to-side 'ridge' towards the rear of the pad. I am going to glue a "bumper" to the pad to prevent the top part of the phone from sliding forward from the "spot".

Initially I wanted to try to use this cool feature. But I have a 6 plus hence just decided to plug it instead. I'll probably take out my 4S and 5 and see.

How do you know where the spot is?

Also, why can't I play music from the phone?

I have tried vie BT and via USB and neither will show the phone as a media device.

I can make phone calls with no problems via bluetooth.

I was able to get the phone to play music thru the BT, you cannot see the phone from the instrument cluster like you can an iPhone,
but I pressed the Media icon on CUE and it circled round to the Samsung.

Crappy thing is you have to use the phone to select what you want to listen to.

Why they wouldn't work to get Android to talk to CUE like the iphone is beyond me.

Hello ESSRTEE8,

I can imagine that these difficulties accessing music through your new S6 would be frustrating. I can see that you’ve already received some feedback from other forum members, but I would like to also recommend that you reach out to our Infotainment team. The Infotainment team are our experts on the CUE and they can be reached at 855-428-3669 from 8am to 10pm EST, seven days a week. If they are unable to answer your questions, please feel free to PM me and we can further discuss the situation.

Have a great day,

Austin J.

I just made the switch from the iphone 5 to the Galaxy S6 as well and was very disappointed that the stereo wouldn't recognize the phone to play music via USB or Bluetooth either. I called the infotainment team and they said the ONLY way to play the music from the phone would be through the AUX jack...which for lack of a better word is pretty "lame"

That's not true. I have been listening to music (both MP3 and .wav files) from my S6 via Bluetooth for a week now, and it sounds fantastic. When you paired your S6 with CUE, you should have been asked two questions ON YOUR PHONE...not CUE (which you would have had to answer "yes" to each). The first asked whether you allow your contacts to be shared with CUE, and the second asked if you allowed your media to be shared. Unless you gave your phone permission to share your files, then Bluetooth music would not happen.

I can advance to the next song via the steering wheel controls.

achase,

Can you select the artist, track etc on your S6 or do you have to initiate playing on the S6 and then can only go forward track by track?

No via Bluetooth. You can do this with tracks on a USB drive, so I'm going to tether my S6 tonight to see what happens.

Austin;

I am a Tech Specialist for a Cadillac Dealership here in Houston. There are a few things that could be relayed to our Cadillac clientele.

The USB ports are more for data transfer from a mobile device. Can it charge, yes, but only at the rate of a "trickle charge". If someone needs to fully charge a device, it is recommended to use the 12V outlet, unless your phone is compatible with the wireless charging.

Now to the question at hand, as far as why your phone doesn't charge on the pad, it's the compatibility. It's just like buying a computer yesterday, and by Friday it's outdated. I know that the list of compatible smartphones has been updated a few times already, so I know there are efforts to meeting our clientele's needs. Our clientele can look up their vehicle info on, https://my.cadillac.com/, and see where there devise matches up.

I hope this helps out....

Lisa
