Greetings, my 1997 cadillac seville has an intermittent problem with the 1-2 shifts. sometimes the shifts work just fine and other times it seems to hunt for 2nd gear. Under fulll throttle everything works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now..... Does it "slip" (ie hesitate to get into gear, not a real crisp shift)........ What your describing sounds like slipping..... Mine does that for the first couple of shifts, when its cold...... When it gets warmed up, it shifts perfect......

Also, how is the fluid........

It appears to be slipping, but sometimes cold or not it works just fine. It might go for 2 days without the problem. the fluid is new and the problem was there before the fluid change.

It sounds something electrical to me....... Maybe a shift solenoid or something........

Do you have any DTCs.........?
