Based on that I'd say you are OK. I don't think they could say"Approved by GM" if it wasn't.
Hi, I was more responding to clallenger 71 than saying anything about the Prestone "any color" coolant. I sure that the prestone stuff is NOT silicate based, otherwise it wouldn't be "long life approved" etc...I'm not sure this stuff is silicate based. I was looking closer and it's actually more of a yellow tint than the typical green stuff. And it says right on the bottle that it is safe for metal and aluminum engine components and has been certified to work with all extended life coolants and will not alter their properties. On top of that...when I topped it off the coolant that came up to the the top was green in color. Now that I'm thinking, if the Dex-Cool had been in there in the first place, the color definitely shouldn't have been green. So I'm thinking maybe the person who I bought the car from switched from Dex-Cool to just regular coolant.
