Hey guys,
There had been a slight grinding noise that was coming from what I was pretty sure is my power steering pump. Even moreso after my brother had put a half tank of regular in the car(before the water pump went out), especially starting was a loud scratchy few turn overs before the vehicle starts. Anyways, a couple days after replacing my water pump, I go out to start my car, and theres no grinding noise! good news until I try to turn away from the curb.. no power steering. I end up letting my vehicle sit a couple days, and then when I look at the engine running, the serpentine belt not only has no tension, but none of the wheels running the belt are even moving. This forum is the best place that I know of to find advice on my Cadillac STS and my 4.6 l. Northstar.

Most likely a broken belt or a bad tensioner. If you are lucky, it might just be a rusty tensioner pivot and you may free it up by putting some oil on the fulcrum and exercising it to work the oil in.
