Thats is a problem. If you do a search on the subject N*caddy has a good thread with pics & step by step repair of a common problem that can be fixed.

I have a receipt for antenna replacement from the previous owner and it cost $650. I know the assembly can be bought for far less but if you have any yankee ingenuity, you may be able to fix it yourself for zip.

FWIW I bought a Hirschmann antenna for about $50 on ebay. In the extended position it is about 8 inches longer than the stock antenna and, coupled with a decent receiver routinely pulls in my favorite FM that has it's transmitter a good 120 miles away. The new antenna installed easily and in the retracted position is indistinguishable from stock.

$650 for an antenna? For that money it should be made from solid gold.

Any local auto parts store has power antenna replacements for GM vehicles that work just fine. Goes for between 25-60 dollars depending on size and quality. The damned thing even comes with "how-to" installation instructions, so its dummy proof least to say. 650$ is an insane amount for an antenna:suspect: It should come with reception for teleporting adult entertainment lap dances at the driver seat if its 650!
