Just recently sometimes when I'm reversing I get a popping/clunk noise from the front.it does it as soon as I hit the gas.seems like it does it mostly when the wheels are turned when I'm backing into my parking.it doesn't do it all of the time but tonight it seemed to be alot louder.

On my strut shaft and the upper nut there is a white line marking the relation of the nut on the shaft.was this done from the factory or did someone mark it cause they took it apart? Can I use this mark for tightening the shaft nut cause I don't have the torque wrench adapter.

Sorry i'm talking about the upper damper shaft and nut that holds the mount down, it has a white line to mark the relation of the nut(I guess to get it torqued close) since you have to hold the strut shaft with a torx.I was wondering if it came like that from the factory or did a previous owner do that.

I was trying to see if a previous owner may have taken the struts/coil apart before.i'm still wondering about the position of the spring.the spring does touch on the slanted part of the upper spring seat but its on the back side wheel well.like if I look up into the wheel well it looks like the spring doesn't touch anything I had to feel behind .Idk the pics I looked at the the spring and upper insulator touch in the outside of the wheel well.I hope i'm explaining this right.

The problem is she got laid off last January and she is always home and I work 11-12 hours a day and in the weekend I like to mess around with the car weather its cleaning, fixing or checking things out.its not like I spend the whole weekend with it maybe a couple 2-3 the whole weekend but that's to much for her.so now I have to wake up early on Saturday or Sunday.

I would think the part of the spring would rest on the upper seat facing the outside of the wheel well (for cornering at fast speeds) if that even matters.like the way its on my car now the gap between the upper seat and coil is on the outside, so wouldn't that make it less stable on cornering.if anyone is near their car can you look up in the wheel well and see if the spring is resting on the upper seat on the inside or outside.thanks
