i am going to purchase an exhaust. what do you guys think? to give you some idea of what i like, i'd probably choose the corsa touring over the sport. i dont want it to be too loud, or drone at highway speeds...

i was thinking about B&B.

any help is much appreciated!

This is very subjective (worse than trans choices!), I love the B&B system, really gives a nice tone-have been told by quite a few people-even been chased down by a crotch rocket rider that had to know what was done to my car when I gave it some throttle as I went by him and some friends parked beside the road (he mentioned it sounding very exotic). I also like the headers/stock exhaust sound, but I have trouble justifying the price of headers vs hp/gain and the looks of the B&B from the back compared to stock is worth it alone.

I'm new to this site and will be watching the answers you receive, as I too am in the market for an exhaust system.
I'm with you, and though I've searched the forum on the topic, still have not gotten much first hand feedback, particularly on the B&B cat-back system. On some of their early Vette systems and on a number of other V-8 systems, they were known for the dreaded "drone". I'm told that their new systems to not have that issue. The quality of the systems look great.

Like you, I'm not going the header route. I did that stuff all through the days when I was racing and such, but really don't want the associated down-sides with this vehicle. That is just my very humble opinion, so all the "header lovers" don't start flaming me with abandon.

In the end, a nice aggressive, yet not offensive (I know, somewhat subjective-put your "reasonable" hat on...) exhaust note would be great.

Drone at all? Do you have stick or auto? If you have a stick, do you get some snap/crackle with down-shifts?

There is the slightest noise around 1800 rpm (not really a drone-just loud at that point) Do a search you will find many posts about comparisons and reviews. I have an auto, and yes even still you get a nice snap/crackle sound on deceleration.

Unfortunately, many of us are in the same boat especially the v-coupe owners. The only two options for the v-coupe are the B&B cat-back or Corsa axle-back. I decided on the B&B cat-back but I haven't received it yet.

I also ordered the B&B and waiting for it. I'm leaving the stock manifolds and sticking with a true cat back system. Should sound nice. I'll be posting a video once I have mine done. I'm actually counting the days.

You guys do realize that a B&B on a mildy modded V is NOTHING in comparison to a B&B on a more highly modded V right ? One with heads/cam/etc
Can you explain? I spoke with Mike Boat at B&B and he said the gains should be between 14-18 rwhp. I thought that headers make a big difference on a modded car compared to a stock car.

If you are referencing sound, then that is just what I'd want. ( can't speak for the original poster). I just want a better sound. I won't mod beyond a CAI and a cat back... No desire.
