I'm driving home from work today, and notice that the power steering is not working anymore.

I also notice the tempature gage is at the highest level and the battery light is now on for being too low. Luckily I make it home, but leave a trail of coolant on the street and a puddle where I park.

The tempature gage has never been above halfway. I have noticed a little "shhooosing" noise coming from the left front wheel...but nothing else.

The leveling light was also flashing while this was all happening.

Should I even consider the Catera safe to drive tomorrow? Or should I take it to the local neighborhood mechanic down the road?

I live in Washington, DC, so any mechanic/dealer advice would also be helpful.

Thanks in advance for your help!

bearings collapsing in the water pump shaft? That might cause leakage and slipping of the belt. And everything that goes with that (oveheating, low battery, low air pump pressure and levelling problems).

Repair shop just called. Tensioner belt was damaged which caused the Serpentine belt to also be damaged.

Total Cost with Labor $300
