Well my small dealer in Kalamazoo, Michigan finally got an allocation for a Platinum. I've had it on order since 9/1/14 or six months. No big deal, I wasn't in a rush, and frankly the longer we waited maybe many of the technical problems being reported here would be worked out, particularly if I got a late 2015i build.

So now the question, anybody have a feel for how many more weeks to reach "4200 status, ready to ship"?

This is the response I got from the Cadillac Chat line yesterday:

"….I'm afraid it's still too early to give that exact estimate. From here, it should move into the 3000 phases within a couple of weeks, at which point it begins scheduling for production. After that, it usually takes between a few weeks to a little over a month more before it actually produces. Assuming the weather clears up (the nasty weather has caused some issues with our carriers, leading to slight delays), it should ship out soon after that, then shipping will usually be on the lower half of 2-5 weeks. In total, most orders take between 6-12 weeks from when the order is placed to when it arrives at the dealership...."

I would say about 2 months from 2000 to Delivery.
One month for the Production portion and
One month for Delivery portion.
An Allocation from a larger volume dealer seems to move it quicker at least in scheduling in both areas.

Thanks everyone for your estimates. I guess this puts arrival around the 1st of May.

So that brings up another questions, when do folks think the 2016's will start arriving; better to wait or take a late production model on the 2015i?

To my knowledge, I don't think there will be that much difference. It seems the recent build 2015i's have most of the kinks worked out. If you only keep your vehicles a few years, wait for the 2016's, most likely out in Sept/Oct so your residual/resale will be higher.
