large and in charge !!

i was back and forth from a late 60's coupe and a mid 70's fleetwood. so i guess it came down to convenience and availability..this one was only about 2hrs away.

*50,000 miles, winter stored for last 25 yrs
*interior is better than the exterior - black leather
*top is mint
*love at 1st sight, check

its not perfect with identified problems already , lol, but you have to fun with these things and expect problems here and there

sorry for the low res pics forgot to set it...

you guys with experience with these cars may be next best buddies !!

just a few issues off the top:

- driver side window is stuck one inch down ! with all other 3 power windows working good..this was disclosed b4 the sale
- heat ? no, no heat on the ride back..lol , was told the A/c worked well last summer...we'll see !
- front is a little high, or the rear a little low, i would like to drop that front end down about 2 inches..
- seems to be a low optioned fleetwood, what were any options back then ?

any comments would be great...

Your suspension is shot... New rear springs and shocks should get the front end down and level everything out.

Oh... And that's a Sixty Special, not a Fleetwood 75 as suggested by the Motorera link above.

i like the height of the rear, dont really want to raise it to get the front level, i'd rather lower the front..

i've noticed all fleetwoods have this 'rake' where it looks like the front is higher...

but you maybe right about the shocks !

Yeah. Cadillacs do tend sit low in the rear (might be made more obvious by the fender skirt), but yours looks a little too low. If the springs and shocks are shot, then replacing them will raise the rear to factory height (that raked look) and the front end will be forced lower (almost what you want). With the rear at factory height, you will have a better idea of how much the front needs to be lowered to give the effect you're looking for.

If you don't base your modifications off new components, then when the old parts need changed, the car will look all messed up.

SWEET CAR!!!
I wouldn't worry about the suspension, The car looks good!
Hope you got a good deal on it!
How much would a car like that normally go for?

I bet its safe in a wreck, alot of weight there
It should be 1000lbs heavier than my 78 Sedan
That thing should float down the road

sounds like you need a window motor since all other 3 windows work....check out iPartCars.com, they should have 1 for your car, i got one from them for about $40 including shipping..that was a year ago, and it still works great

one good looking car . Appears like the mafia may have owned it . Low in the back --check trunk for bodies . Polished bodywork --flunky work between jobs. Drivers window just low enough to point the barrel , high enough to not let the missiles come in .I love it .Black in n out .Nice buying .

Nice car!!!! If you are worried about the way it sits at all or the suspension I would just go ahead and change the springs and shocks like sven914 said. It shouldn't cost a whole lot and would make a big improvement compared to old worn out parts.

now I am not sure but hope to prompt some guys here. Certain springs from the chev will lower certain models eg I am getting impala ss springs to lower my 86 f/wood brougham . What fits yours ?? I am hoping some of these guys will answer for you to avoid cutting a piece of coil off your springs .
I am with my aussie mate (albymangled) .You gotta love a big black caddy.

Prime looking ride! Looks like a Mafia ride for sure. It`s really amazing how huge Caddy luxury rides were back in the day.
As mentioned, you could do some rear shocks and springs---but it looks fine to me.If you`re not bottoming out anywhere---i don`t think it`s a major concern----yet.

I can picture that car being the subject of the following sentence:

"Hey Tony, pull the Caddy around and pop the trunk, Vinnie here is going for a ride..."
