Hey Guys,

I've searched for hours and I can't find a single 07+ escalade pic of someone who debadged, color matched or removed all the side trim all together. My truck is pearl white. I'm doing gunmetal wheels and the chrome just doesn't do it for my taste. I can't be the only one!?!?!?

Thanks in advance.

Other burning questions:
1) Is the chrome trim on the bottom of the side widows simply removable or do they make a black version?
2) To get color matched handles, is there a company that makes them already painted?
3) Is the door trim/molding attached to the truck with double sided tape? My 08 Sierra's were and I was able to get them off with high heat and a ton of adhesive remover. I'm trying to figure out if these are bolted on for some reason.

Thanks guys.

I'll make this easy for you lol

1) No it is not removable and no they don't make it in black. It is very easy to gloss black vinyl over the chrome window trim, go to http://www.bmwshadowline.com/purchase.html and get the 3" gloss black roll. That's what I've done to all my BMWs and did for the Esky window trim

2) Many NNBS vehicles (Tahoe/Yukon/Sierra/Silverado) come factory with pearl white handles as well as the Premium edition Escalades. I would wait around and find a set of take off door handles on eBay as many of the new Premium owners are swapping out for chrome. I got my pearl white door handles on eBay for $75 and sold my chrome ones locally on craigslist for $125.

3) The trim/molding is attached to the truck with double sided tape AND holes for guide pins. In order to remove them you would have to fill/sand/paint all four doors and I would STRONGLY advise against it as it will be expensive and the pearl white is hard to match. I just did my moldings paint matched to look like the new Premium Escalades. Looks clean and was a simple solution respectively.

Man! Wow...i love you. Thanks so much. Is it pretty challenging to get the trim off for color matching purposes? Any advice there? On the handles, did you do the swap yourself? I've seen some diagrams of the doors and it seems simple enough.

Thanks again.

The handle swap is easy and only requires simple hand tools. I didn't remove the trim I just painted it on the vehicle. I actually Plastidipped the parts, it is not actually paint. Search my thread on here for more info on the Plastidip

This is my next project... although somewhat reluctant to try and paint a part while on car... nothing like paint overspray to ruin a guys day. Why the need in GM's infinite wisdom to put holes in the doors? Lazy body shops perhaps?

We took off the lower chrome trim to paint after getting tired of plastidip. My wife is much happier with the matte black paint. We also did the side mirrors. We still have plastidip on the roof rack, running boards, and side vents. Just haven't had time to take everything off to repaint.
